My name is Bob Heywood and I live at Widnes in Cheshire, i have a deep seated interest in World War II History and combine this with my hobby of photography. At the moment I am in the middle of trying to photograph all the remaing Military Installations in the North West and also gather as much information on them as possible. To date I have managed to phtograph all that remains of R.A.F/USAAF/USAF Burtonwood, P.O.W. Camp 290 at Bold and R.A.F. Cranage. I am tryin to find out as much information as I can about R.N.A.S . " H.M.S. Ringtail " at Burscough in Lancashire. I would very much appreciate if anybody has any information on this Air Staation if they could kindly tell me about it. I am particulary interested in the Naval Air Squadrons operating from Ringtail,I am aware that 812 Squadron flew from there but I have no information on any others.
