WELCOME to the H.M.S. VENGEANCE Message Board
Posted by Ken Macgregor This is more of a general enquiry, rather than specific to HMS Jackdaw. Whilst friends and I were walking recently in the Kippo area of East Fife following a walk written up by Owen Silver we came across the old Kippo Airfield. Mr Silver in his narrative for the walk refers to Airfield as being an Annexe to HMS Jackdaw for Walrus, Swordfish and Barracuda planes, being mainly anti-submarine and torpedo-bomber aircraft. On site there remain several old buildings (including the control tower) and various other prefabricated steel, brick and concrete built relics of the 39/45 war. The line of the 'peri track' is still visible and in part is upgraded to access roads for farm use. Thanks Ken

Good evening,
By chance please does anyone have any more information on this airfield at Kippo or point me in the right direction as to reading material on the subject.
