I served a year of my National Service on HMS Vengeance from mid 1949 to mid 1950. This included the Med. cruise. I was a one man draft from Daedalus, joining at Rosyth at the completion of her refit. My berth was in Mess 8, just abaft the cable deck. Although rated as aircraft handler I served as log keeper in the flying control position just off the bridge. We operated Fireflies and Sea Furies.
Would like to hear from any old mess mates.
