I have just found 3 letters concerning the accident and having been 'off-air' for over 3 years I thought an update was in order. These events are now almost 60 years old,but the emotions evoked are still powerful.
The letter from CPO[A]Geoffrey gibbs comes from London dated 14 March 1949. In it he states that he is a family man himself and 'My one of many regrets is that he was not spared to be able to see his daughter'.
Two more letters are from Captain John Terry. One gives the position as 25miles west of Jan Mayen Islandin position 70degrees 51'N ,10 degrees 22' W. Phil.
