Grandad Andrews then in 1914 joined the South Lancashire Regiment until and was discharged in 1918.He worked at Rylands as a wiredrawer but I think he must have missed his Military life and he finished as a civilian worker at HMS BLACKCAP I feel very proud of him.We lived in Grammar School Road in Latchford and I well remember as a child running up to the sailors who regularly passed our home to touch there collars for luck.
