Posted by Journeyman When dealing with the cosmos, you cannot trust in the same response forever, or the same answers... eventually something doesn't fit together. There are all kinds of revelations at the moment, a dark energy that is not matter, dark matter prevailing in the universe. All these things that isn't shown to us by the light of the universe. What you see prevails only here. Elsewhere there are different rules, different physics, different substance. Even the nature of the matter that we know and are familiar with is being challenged by science. String theory and M theory are at the forefront of this movement. To these scientist matter is not simply particles or is not particles at all. Knowing that the particles detected make up less than 10% of the space in an atom might be driving this kind of physics. Actually far, far less than 10%. Visualize, if you will, a volleyball where the sun would be. Where the Earth is a grain of rice rotates around it. That is the approximate space that matter, as we know it, makes up in the universe. Kinda challenges the idea that only matter carries energy doesn't it. The discovery of dark energy cements the idea that matter is not the principle force in the universe even further. There are even discoveries that challenge the idea that matter cannot be created or destroyed. There are, of course, significant energies related to matter. Magnetism, Weak Nuclear Force, Strong Nuclear Force, and the various energies involved in the quantum strata of the atom itself. Electromagnetic particles carry energy as well, light, infrared, microwaves, ultraviolet, gamma-rays, and radio waves are all the same type of particle, (photons) varying principly by wavelength. This means that vibration is a principle force in physics. And further, that because the size of such particles, it is unlikely that actual contact occurs between the nucleus or the electrons of atoms and the photon particle. This is further reinforced by causal evidence that suggests that light does not always travel as particles and that it is interaction with matter that seems to make it detectable particles. Again, even light is hidden in space, and we see only a small bit of what is out there. Again, this suggests that other forces prevail in the universe besides matter. Matter matters because it is what we are made up of, in part. There will, of course, be challenges to that presumption in the near future. -Journeyman

Don't discount that science is revelatory.
Around black holes there seems to be x-rays generated, and some scientists are saying that this is due to phantom particles becoming real particles due to the gravitational energy. This causes an emission, which black holes are not supposed to be generating.
