So glad to see my old pal, Babe Champion receive the recognition he got today.
Babe and his late wife Sue did so much for the city in their years together. Those park trips led by them were awesome.
If you played ball in GC, you knew Babe. Long after his boys were grown and, in the majors, Babe was still watching the kids in Granite playing sprots.
Just an all around good guy. You'll see him at Park Grill, Sammy's and many other places talking about our city history. Stop and say hi but be prepared for a fifteen-minute conversation. He's lived a lot of history and remembers it will.

I have had the pleasure of working with him painting fire hydrants in west Granite...he still loves this City and has a world of knowledge on its history...great guy...congratulations Mr Champion////
