If there's anything former occupant of 1600 Black Lives Matter Plaza enjoys is free attention....and he will capitalize on even the most negative of attention.
You don't have real evidence that he incited a riot.
The worst thing you can do to 45 --- and the 46th best occupant of the executive branch....
is just ignore him.
The greatest punishment to a narcissist - is to deny them attention.
He could try all kinds of shenanigans.
But the official channels of government shouldn't even be saying his name.
Trump can ruin his own self and take the Republican down, with a fissure so deep that decent Republicans and Trumpcult Inc. can keep the GOP civil war going for years to come.
Locally (well not to locally, but within the state) hats of to all decent Republicans like Kinzinger and any GOP who will take its party back from Trumpcult, Inc.

On this we agree.
The dems gave Trump more publicity these past two days than he's gotten since leaving the white house.
For what purpose? Well, let's see. They knew he would not be convicted. IF not convicted, he is able to run again (although that would be foolish)
The defense attorneys he hired were an embarrassment to the profession. When you have to read your opening statement and follow a script, you show you don't truly believe or have passion for your client. These guys were from the firm Dewey-Cheatem and How.
Now did I enjoy the tactic of showing Mad Max, Spartacus and Kamala, "do they have to come out alive" Harris? Absolutely. It was entertaining and it definitely proved the hypocrisy.
Was the assault on the capital a true attempt to overthrow the government? No. Those fools were just a rabid pack of animals with no real plan. The burning of cities, including federal building las summer were of the same mentality. These aren't true insurrectionists. These are animals pure and simple. An unorganized mob yelling, "burn it down" are just as dangerous in my view.
I wonder though what would have happened if the police in the capital would have opened fire on the mob. Would there be outrage? Would there be cries of excessive force? We'll never know. (okay we know)
America is stronger than Donald Trump. It's stronger than a mob of animals. It's stronger than the weak ass leaders sitting in that senate chamber.
We'll overcome Trump and we will survive Biden. (well maybe not economically or militarily) but we will survive him.
Rhetoric will continue. Trump haters will blame him for everything. Biden supporters will say the economy belongs to Trump until it surges. The death count on the Biden administration is now 30,000 plus because after all, he had all of the answers to COVID.
You have to love politics and you have to be an idiot if you believe that either party really cares about the citizens. It's about power, greed, money and helping themselves.
God bless America.I feel all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant.

One additional thought. If the capital hill mob was indeed an attempt to overthrow the government, where were the guns? Would you really storm a building with armed officers and not have your guns pulled and ready to take down the defenders?
Question should have been presented by defense council.
Also, one of the mob was killed by a police officer (nice shot).
The mob, actually killed no one. The officer who died allegedly from a fire extinguisher assault actually died much later in the day from a stroke. He actually called his brother after the siege and before his death. This can be fact checked. All other deaths were natural. He was cremated as were the officers who later "committed suicide".
I feel all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant.
The one thing Trummp is on the hook for is incompetence. On January 6 and thereafter, he did not lift a finger to lead.
I think Trump could have done more - but like a narcissist, he was too self absorbed with the admiration of those members of his cult gathered outside. He was too busy basking in the glow to understand what was happening, then it was too late.
I would get him off on insanity charges, with a plea bargain that he never sets foot on the city limits of Warshington DC ever again.
But to go through this now, I don't understand the purpose. Unless people are afraid he will try again in 2024. They probably are.
I don't understand the draw. You'll have to explain it to me some day. And I hope there's more than an opening of a financial portfolio. At the end, even his Vice President had to finally make adult decisions in his stead.
It's the biggest no-brainer in history that so many people still refuse to believe --- that man is unfit to lead and showed it with constancy.
Being that said -- I don't understand why so much energy is expended on him.
I really don't even want to talk about the guy, or think about it. I don't want to hear his jagoff voice or look at his jagoff face or see him flanked by his elder jagoff children. (Melania and Baron get free passes as they should...) The jagoff is gone, why keep him in the spotlight? Make him pay for his own spotlight.
Trump did not start a riot. He basked in the glow of his subjects, who are more loyal to him than they are their own family members...people who value him being right than they even value their own lives. Someone they bow to, even ahead of Jesus Christ himself.
It's too bad that people are so weak minded that they are drawn into a cult that does nothing more than bolster an ego of a narcissist....but the evidence they have for starting a riot is circumstantial at best.
There is no smoking gun nor direct orders.
It's sickening to the core that it happened. Trump was incompetent and showed no leadership...and Mike Pence had to essentially act in his place.
He was unfit. But being guilty of a specific crime, I just think the evidence falls short.
Further, I don't think he can win in 2024.

You answered your own question. Democrats are afraid of the guy. He shook their ivory towers and they fear he may finish the job.
Further, I don't think he can win in 2024.
I don't think he would get the nomination. Unless of course your party turns him into a martyr. The old saying, "let sleeping dogs lie" comes to mind.
Let the Commander in Tweet go away. His followers will eventually dissolve. Guess what, they were among us before he took over. The "proud boys", the "clan", BLM, they have been here for decades under other names. I feel all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant.

They are afraid of him because with the exception of one senator and one representative, the rest of Congress is basically anti American.
I did vote for trump in 2020...but I am at this time, undecided for 2024...like I did say numerus times...I did vote for the "lesser of the two evils" in 2020...and I will not get away from this thought.
Joe Biden is my current president...and he is your president too...for the good of this nation, everyone should endorse this thought.
