I thought I had mentioned it with no responses.
From what I gather the levee board has been a Democrat pork barrel for years. That Alder person was brought in who removed unproductive people and with the wage savings had some pumps repaired. Then do to an unusual high amount of rain flooding had occurred in certain areas. Democrats, well known for never letting a crisis go to waste, went on the typical path of fixing things to get control of the levee board again thanks to that great Democrat Jay Hoffman.
One of Hoffman's changes made mayor Ed HAugnaur, who runs the Granite City sewer system, a member of the Levee Board. Haugnaur as we know made great strides seeing to it that some of the storm sewers were paved over in downtown Granite practically guaranteeing that there would be storm water issues.
    Am I missing anything?
The Levee Board will soon go back to ghost hiring practices, operating at a deficit and return to its noneffective operations as in the past.
The Democrats are in control in Illinois and this is what is sown and reaped in Granite City Illinois. Democrat politics worked so well in East St Louis, Venice, Centreville, Cahokia and Madison. Granite is on the same path and what a legacy to leave to our children and grandchildren. They should be proud of themselves.
