When I was a kid, it wasn't unusual for a pitcher to pitch the whole 9 innings. The other day I was watching and the pitcher, I believe it was Flaherty, was doing a great job. Then I guess he threw his limit of pitches, so they put in the relievers, and they lost the game for him. The game seems to be based all on stats now.
