So I'll respond to both of the responses to me, in one post.

I am not arguing that Ruler should expand, I'm suggesting that Kroger should move itself into a large open space. Kroger is the not an off brand/discount grocer. I think people in Granite would not only appreciate/support an additional option, but it would definitely be good for the city and residents as well.

I don't see Aldi moving "back into town" from their current location as it is still somewhat newly built. Also, just for clarification, I don't view Route 3 near Wal-Mart as out of town.

I would love to see a steakhouse come into town, but it would need to be one that is catered to "regular" steaks, I think that part of what doomed Lascelles at first was the Executive Chef there tried too many creative options with steaks and sides.

I would like to see a steakhouse with a consistent and attractive menu. By that I mean, have your staples like a Ribeye, Strip, Sirloin, etc. all of the time so that people can know they can get what they like no matter when they go. I'm sure as you read this (if anyone did) you'd think I am some kind of food snob, to a degree you're right, but it's more just that I know what I like, and I appreciate having consistency in the places I frequent.

About 54th Street, I would argue that Granite City is hardly a good comparison to the rest of the St. Louis market, especially Florissant. I think that if our new Director of Economic Development, whomever that may be, would be so inclined, they could make quite the attractive pitch to representatives from 54th Street or any other bar/grill type restaurant to come into our city. Granite City residents have a tendency to be loyal, that is why people complain (some on here) so much (I'm not saying it isn't justified) that there aren't more places in town to go.

Anyway, I'd love to have some more responses to this, I'm really not looking to argue with anyone, but rather exchange ideas and hopefully someone either at the city level, or multiple residents, reads them and decides to pass them along.
