Most always the party in power loses in off year elections, Obama got clobbered in 2010. The GOP has 40 open seats in the House, quite a high number, but the Democrats have more Senate Seats up this cycle than the Republicans. I see the Democrats taking the house by the slimmest of margins, probably by less that a dozen. I think the Republicans will gain 4 Senate Seats and have a total of 56. There will be no waves, maybe a moderate trickle. Also their is decent chance that Joe Manchin will switch parties giving the GOP 57 seats. Kavanaugh being confirmed may wind up saving Claire McCaskill in Missouri, but I still think Hawley will defeat her. Rauner will lose handily and Ted Cruz will win his Senate race. In local races, Mike Babcock will lose a very close race and although nobody can replace Helen, Chris Hankins will win a nail biter and give it his best effort.
