I know its just one game, but its an important one. If the Cardinals win tomorrow and win the series the team may be buyers as the trade deadline nears. If however they lose, they most likely will be sellers. A Cardinal loss combined with a Pirate win would put them in 4th place in a five team division. The team has pretty much had enough of Carlos Martinez and would love to dump him if they possible can. Also Jose Martinez is on the block as he simply can not field any position at the big league level. He would make a good DH, but most of the AL contenders have solids hitters at that spot. Win or lose tomorrow, I expect the team to be active the next several days. They say professional teams in the same city do not compete with each other. Of course that is nonsense as the Cardinals have been reading for days now about the Blues new additions. They will do evrything possible to make their own headlines in the coming days, whether it be to go all in, or dump. Making the managerial change was step one, stay tuned.
