During the run up to Operation Iraqi Freedom, Russian KGB assisted transport of chemical weapons to Syria - Russian intelligence chief Yevgeni Primakov, close associate of Saddam Hussein, main responsibility was transport weapons and clean up evidence. He had approximately one year to complete the task. These new stockpiles from Iraq enhanced the Syrian dabbling and testing on the population.
