    Good Morning All:

Stallings School (Montessori School) is the school That I used to attend from the 1st. through 6th grades...I too am happy to find out that the school had confined the fire to the gymnasium...and the fire did not go into the main school building area.

My sister & I stopped there about 6 to 7 years ago (after I retired) when they had a rummage sale...and yes, I did find something that I still use today at that sale.

When (I) went on a tour of the school with a lady instructor...I was surprised to find out that bathrooms were added to the lower part of the school (grades 1 & 2 when I attended Stallings)and this lady instructor was surprised to learn that when we attended this same (Stallings)school, the 1st & 2nd grade children had to climb the stairs and use the upper bathrooms...for they did not have any other facilities in the school...but this one Boys & Girls facility in the early to mid 1950's...and they were confined to the "old 4 room school building".

I did like Stallings School so much...that I took the 1st grade over...or, I had two years in a row in the 1st grade.

Back to the school,I still do not know where the Montessori School System found the room for this bathroom facility...but it is a nice aspect that this room was found...it does make it a little easier when these little tykes need to use them.

    Gregg
