Point being if an officer is called to a domestic violence call and the suspect is found with pot or any other drug, he's going to add that as a charge as he should under the law. Hey Op, If they were responding to violent crimes, finding evidence of violent crimes, and arresting for violent crimes, then finding pot on the ~10% of violent people they arrest, there would not be more people arrested for pot than all violent crimes combined. I have no problem with police getting violent people off the streets, it's one of (IMHO) the few legitimate roles police have. Problem is, they use pot as a catch all. By the time they find any, most of the time, they had already decided they wanted to take you to jail, and were just fishing for a cause. If you don't like the law, change it Well I don't know how to make the board and stock holders of Glasko/Smith/Cline less greedy. Nor do I know how to make the government thugs that like abusing human rights, want to give up their number one cause for placing jackboots on someones throat. They have the political power, not I. I don't have billions to spend on lobbyist, nor have higher up's in the DEA that have my back. don't blame the cop. He's doing his job. "Just doing my job" is not an excuse. I don't like lawyers, they are just doing their job. I don't like car salesmen, they are just doing their job. I'm not fond of most CEO's, they are just doing their job. It's ok for me to think your largely a crook based on your profession, when I view the profession, as practiced, to be morally reprehensible.
