Thank you whatusay! Exactly my point. The long term goal can be achieved through today's technology, or manually just as Opi suggested with man power, a checklist and a clip board. The point that machine is refusing to acknowledge is, a system or plan in place like we both have mentioned above WILL prevent any children being lost. It will NOT prevent (as I already stated in previous posts), buses running late, missed pick up and drop off stops, or over crowded buses. It WILL prevent the district having no idea if a child ever boarded a bus, or which bus it boarded. It will allow the district to know the exact location the child boarded or exited the bus. This would at least give the parents and the school a starting point to begin to look for a child who has been dropped off at the wrong bus stop. It would at least give the school and parents proof that a child boarded a bus and never exited the bus, and is still on board. "You're idea solves no problems, just cost money" If you were a parent with children of your own, you would understand and acknowledge that this idea solves the BIGGEST problem of all!
