I was honored today to be able to attend the processional for the Staff Sgt. I can honestly say it gets tougher each year to see a flag draped coffin in the back of a hearse and it brought tears to my eyes. I was so pleased to see that residents of Pontoon Beach and Granite City, including businesses, took time out of their day to stop and pay respects to a fallen hero. I pray for a day when no such procession has to take place. I pray for a day when no more coffins come home on planes from far off places and most importantly I pray that there comes a day when there are no new gold star families. TAPS Staff Sgt.Christopher Wilbur. Your duty is now done. Stand at ease and claim the reward of all proud soldiers next to the God that created you. We thank you for your service and salute your memory.
