Party at The Beach Archived Message

My wife and I have been home-owners on Whitsell Way in Pontoon Beach for seventeen years. We have both been impressed with the changes Mayor Pagano has brought to PB. But last night's Party at The Beach celebration was not how I'm used to being treated by this mayor and the trusties.

The other entrance into the two subdivisions behind the celebration, Timberwood, was marked with local traffic only signs. Additionally, no parking signs were placed along all major streets, with the exception of Whitsell Way. In years past, all residential streets around the party were marked with temporary no parking signs, even when it was held on Pontood Rd.

I called the non-emergency police phone number and confirmed that parking on Whitsell had been approved by the mayor.

There were only about five or six cars parked on our street that were owned by folks going to the event, and there were some in the apartments across the street. There was a lot of traffic, both foot and car. And one very near miss by someone (wasn't a car I've seen in the neighborhood before) speeding through the jumble of parked cars. Also, those folks that parked on Whitsell had to walk down Engineer Rd that was roped off so there was no place for pedestrians to walk without being in the middle of cars that could barely pass with no pedestrians. It looked very hazardous, but fortunately no one was injured.

I don't know why this year Whitsell Way home-owners were suddenly deemed un-worthy of the same treatment every other home-owner around the party at the beach has been afforded, but I can say that I am not pleased at all.
