ATTENTION: Residents and communities within Nameoki Township including Pontoon Beach. If you have an area of standing water where you feel it is or could become a breeding ground for mosquitos, please contact the highway department at 618-931-1290 - our crew is licensed and certified through the Illinois Department of Agriculture in the practive of Larviciding. It has been proven that the most effective mosquito control is applying pesticides (larviciding) formulated to kill mosquito larvae before they become biting adults. Controlling mosquitoes can be achieved as a community by eliminating standing water by draining ponds, ditches, keeping water out of natural and artificial containers, reporting poorly maintained swimming pools, tree holes, abandoned tires, bird baths, buckets or other debris in which water accumulates.
