GCHS Band wins Nashville competitionArchived Message

The GC high school band was in Nashville Tennessee this weekend for a band competition. We competed in Concert Band and Wind Ensemble categories. This was a competition with bands from many states. Our kids did wonderful today, they won: Gold Rating (1st overall) for both bands. Sweepstakes for 2 different instrumental programs Invitation to Festival of Gold competition for both bands Adjudicator award - wind assemble Outstanding band with highest score of day - Wind Ensemble. This is a huge honor for these hard working kids and band directors. They are scheduled to return at 7 pm on Sunday, lets be at the high school to welcome this group of award winners home and show them how proud we are of their effort and success. Congratulations Granite City Warriors band program, bringing home the hardware once again.
