I wonder if there will indeed be additional bus cost? I see numerous busses at Worthen every day. Those busses will carry kids from Worthen to the new school. The other "attendance centers" have bus traffic as well so there will be some re-routing but will that create more cost or savings? Potential Cost Savings: Breaking this down to simples forms, I would estimate that there will be some major savings. WORTHEN: (salary savings estimate) Principal $80,000 Secretary: $40,000 2 Cooks: $50,000 3 Janitors $120,000 Nurse: Will they cut or send to another school? Music and PE teacher: I would expect them to save these salaries however, Greenwald stated no layoffs so who knows. This could be a $100,000 plus Utilities $10,000 ?????? Upkeep? Grass cutting/maintenance/snow removal If they don't lay people off the savings is decreased but it looks like several hundred thousand in the no brainer category. Any other ideas for savings?
