This is an article in today's BND regarding the possible relocation of the Early Childhood Program, currently housed at the old Lake School.

It appears that a previous candidate of two failed election is the main contact of this issue. I found her comments very interesting and somewhat questionable.

She indicates that Lake School is in the center of the district. Really? How is it the center if you live in Mitchell? You can get to Prather from Mitchell just as fast as Lake. The district is a big circle s wouldn't the center be equal distance to all points outside of the center? It would appear Coolidge or Frohardt would be the "center" more so than Lake.

She also indicates that the current school was recently renovated to house little kids. I see new windows. Are they specially designed for pre-k kids to look out of? I see some playground equipment but I see that at several schools. Is she talking about the toilets? I didn't know there were special toilets for pre-k. My kids always used the same one at our house. I know when they went to restaurants with us there were no special potties.

Greenwald points out that the board has already agreed to keep the program together, just at a different building. That's more than fair.

I don't have kids in school now but I know if I did, they would adapt to a teacher and a building no matter where it was.

I think Mrs. Knogl is feathering her nest for another run at election time. I understand her son was ousted as union president after he and she failed to get their "forensic audit" done. What's up her sleeve this time?

Anyway, as I said on HC earlier post, attend this meeting people. Get the straight dope instead of all this rumor and speculation crapola that our town is famous for.
