Long Lake is a now defunct backwater slough that was once connected to Cahokia Creek from the Mississippi near Hartford. As far as i know it doesn't drain into anything these days.
Not sure what you are referring to as Mitchell Lake but it's probably one of Dirt Barrow Pits excavated when I 270 was constructed.
