Here is a graph of the violent crime history in the US for the past ~40 years. Notice how violent crime was much higher when I was a kid.
You can insist that violent crime is on the rise, but as I've said, in reality it ins't. It's not just something we are seeing in the US, by and large violent crime has generally been in decline since before this nations founding. The media likes the spooky stories, it get clicks and views, so they can show you adds. Thats how they make their money.
even if I believed 1 in 50 died in car crashes, it don't mean my families safety is any less important.
I'm not saying it isn't. What I am saying, is that a car should scare you more than thugs, as you are much more likely to be injured/killed in one, than by the hands of a thug.
