Opinions on this woman?
Kentucky high court tells her she must issue marriage licenses to same sex couples, after refusing to do so since the Supreme Court's ruling.
Now the U.S. Supreme Court tells her, get yourself together, do your job, and issue marriage licenses in your county.
Nope, she is still defiant and more sanctimonious than ever. The latest media clip shows her spewing her venom in front of national media...and a bunch of those Kentucky backwoods folks are singing her praises.
I have to say, if you don't agree with same sex marriage, fine. But do your job, and if you can't do it because of your religious beliefs, step down. She can't be fired nor recalled since she's an elected official. She was elected after her mother sat in the same position for thirty seven years. (Sounds like politics around here)
Her argument is that when she ran for this position, same sex marriage was not legal, and since the law has changed...she just simply did not sign up for this and is refusing to issue the licenses.
So, if you are an elected official, and new legislature is passed while you are in office you don't have to abide because it wasn't law when you were elected.
Yeah, okay. Let's see what the federal court has to say about that on Thursday.
Fines and jail time, oh goodie goodie this is going to get interesting.
