Children should be much more care free these days. Although news reports of various tragedies happening to children are much more frequent, children are statistically safer now than they ever have been. Even though school shooting are something that quite unfortunately happen from time to time in todays world, they are quite rare. Kids should be much more afraid of the bath tub, or getting in a car, than getting gunned down at school.

If the media would quit reporting on things like school shootings they way they do, I bet they would start happing less often. They should never report the name of the shooter, only the name of the victims. They should not drop all other new, and focus weeks of 24 hour reporting on the situation. They should make an initial report of the incident, then wait till they get the facts, and present them in a way that might help communities heal.
