    Elected government official Archived Message

Is it a violation of a person's civil rights if an elected government official intentionally tries to deprive them of their right of free speech?

By taking their written word and introducing it into a public meeting insisting that someone do something about it? Or even implying that this person should be forced to shut up?

Apparently another elected official spoke up during the incident at the township meeting and reminded the other that freedom of speech is a protected right.

This should all be in the minutes and the audio recording of the minutes, with several witnesses. I'd be looking for a lawyer.
