I agree, another wonderful display. Granite City definitely shines every 4th of July. We had a huge group of people walk past us, all being very loud and all very intoxicated. Everyone of them had an open glass bottle of beer in their hands. They disappeared into the crowd and I was thinking to myself, as loud and as drunk as they appeared, this may not end well for them or the unlucky families they ended up near. But, I didn't hear any sirens or people fighting, so I guess they eventually calmed down.
Other than a few idiot parents, who thought nothing wrong with lighting a few bottle rockets and a couple of larger flying, spinning out of control fireworks in a crowded parking lot filled with children...was an appropriate way of celebrating the holiday, the evening went off without a hitch.
