I believe it may have been my quote so let me help you Mike.

IF you ask union leadership and IF they tell you the truth, which I'm sure they will, they did "put the audit" on the back burner until after the referendum.

I believe the situation that was reported at one of the meetings quoted Mr. Knogl as saying the union wanted to back the referendum but at a price, that being the board making some post negotiations concessions. I'm paraphrasing as well.

In the long run the union has now come out in full and strong support of the tax issue which shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. If the issues passes the teachers stand to gain by not losing members.

The board has indeed agreed to this "forensic" audit and the audit will be paid for by the teachers union as it in my opinion should be. I'd hate to be on the Board of Ed if this audit turns up something but I would equally hate to be a part of union leadership if the audit shows nothing more than the one produced by board auditors. Can a union really afford to spend thirty or forty grand on a private audit?

My sources may not be any more reliable than yours Mike. I'd be interested to compare the notes from those meetings.
