My mother was in the Stearns memory unit from Feb of 2013 to December of 2013. She received excellent care from the staff. I was there to visit her most days at lunch or dinner time. The food was good and looked appetizing. They did a lot of activities and baked a lot of goodies. They played games like bingo and hangman. She received manicures on a weekly basis. She even received one on one care when she required it. The staff was very attentive and loving. I took care of her on my own 24/7 for 3 years before I had to place her there when her alzheimers reached the point I could no longer do it on my own. I never noticed a smell in that unit. I was a very hard decision for me to make but not one that I would regret. When she was passing away they were even more attentive to her and her family. I would say they went out of their way a lot of the times. Also, I would like to thank Cheryl, Gina and antwonw {SP}the LPN's and the aides for her awesome care while she was there.
