When are we going to start looking to bring back good union paying manufacturing jobs to our city.

Union "workers" are big part of what killed manufacturing in Granite. I work in the manufacturing sector, we tend not to hire from union shops. "Union workers" in my field have the worst work ethic I've ever seen. Manufacturing is a hard industry to make money in, if you couple in poor work ethic, over priced labor, and "workers" who are unwilling to do anything ~out side the job description~ it's impossible to make money.

It makes me giggle when I think of a value added chain, and how disruptive union labor ideology is to it. You must have employees that can and will do any step in the process. Another thing unions have wrong is basing pay off how long someones been with the company, not talent, work ethic, attendance, and general job performance. Unions are not "forward thinking" they are out dated ideology.

We need to improve on that and bring in new tech jobs as well.

You have to have high tech workers before you have high tech business opening up. There isn't a school in Madison County that has good high tech programs. Also, more intelligent and educated professionals, like those in high tech fields, are able to ask themselves more rational questions, so good luck keeping their money in the pocket of the union boss.
