Horsey, as usual you present things in a reasonable manner. I have no problem paying my share. Here in GC we have many problems with our streets, our sewers, old schools etc... When the bell rings I don't usually vote no because I realize when services are slashed people will leave. We're riding a double edged sword right now. Those on fixed incomes can't keep upping the anty for those who don't pay. So what do we do? I don't think we get a choice. We pay. When our property values are in decline we are still acessed at higher rates. When the taxing bodies have shortages they increase their tax rate to meet needed costs. They're giving us a vote here in GC about the pension fund but in reality it's just a public opinion poll. If we vote against it they will either ignore us and raise the levy or they will layoff officers and we'll lose services. You present a good scenario of what you as an elected PB official will face. I'm curious, how will you vote? It's got to be a tough position to be in and I wish you God's guidance and strength in making such a decision.
