I agree with you in all you said, but I don't know about Albert to the cubs.

I do not like much of what modern music has to offer. It is all generic and sounds about the same.

Everyone has to fit within a mold or a package and has to look a certain way. It's more than just a song, now it's a marketing package.

When they do that with pop music..no loss. When they do it with Country...adios Nashville.

When music has no heart or soul..I quit listening. I can stay in a blissful holding pattern with oldies, Motown, Classic Country, Gospel, etc..

That brings me to Christian Contemporary.

I don't know how I can get into it without getting into religion again. We've been there enough lately.

But I'll just say the Lutherans botched up their heritage station in a very bad way.

Now I know people who groove on the station and have turned their lives around and want to fill it with Christian music...and Christian everything...and I hope and pray these people never burn out.

But for all the reasons I have mentioned on a recent Classic 99 theme thread... I agree with Machine 100%, minus the Pujols to the cubs thing.

We lost a voice that advances the arts and advances learning and the promotion of music.

Unlike the music on these other stations, that are performed in Karaoke beers after one has loosened up on the fifteenth drink....classical music requires technique and an advanced degree of learning.

St. Louis without a voice like this really does dumb down the entire region and make it a little less cosmopolitan.

I think FM 90.7 has Classical music, but it is also filled with NPR and other programming.
