If you believe your God of the Bible...then they will be punished...am I right or wrong?
According to the penalty of sin, yes, unless we all repent for those things we have done that a Holy God says are sinful - which can and is many things - then yes, we choose punishment and not God.
But, first off, GIT, the intelligent atheists I know (and by far most of them are) don't say there is no God. The vast general consensus is "Where's the proof? You give some solid proof, then I'll believe".
Now see, here I disagree because atheists are those who do not believe in a Supreme Being. An Agnostic, like Lib, will say what you quoted coming from a standpoint of having no conviction one way or the other as he said. If an atheist says this they are probably saying it in a glib way in order to shut us up. And yes they are generally very intelligent individuals.
As for religion, the devout Buddhist, Hindu, etc, etc, is just as convicted and sure of their faith as you are your Christianity. I know...I was once one myself...and we're right...we have the Bible...and we're supposed to evangelize. Yep, I went through all of that.
See, I come form the other vantage point of living a life more without God in it to a life with Him there.
