You could also try the New Life Evangelical Center in St. Louis. I know they have a couple of guys who provide emergency services to those in need in weather like this and who are down on their luck. Not sure if they fix ac units though - but they do a lot for the homeless and needy. Here is their number if your interested (314) 421-3020. While I am on the subject - they also take clothing and distribute it for free for those who have nothing. They are usually short on mens and childrens clothing and shoes. They provide a place for some of those who are homeless to stay - for as many as they can and they feed them - are also often short on things like bread and PB&J for sandwiches, especially the Jelly part. Paper products too. Good luck - hope you find someone who does that. It is kind that you thought of it - it is soooo hot.
