Thanks, Kev. We split up a 10 hour drive into 2 days of 5-6 hours (including stops), so while there was the extra cost of a hotel room for one night each way, it was much easier on the boy (and on us).
Still, considering how I've had some postpartum depression and it's resulted in fear of leaving the house, I consider this to be a pretty huge deal. Even though I had my mom with me the entire time and she took on a lot of the baby duties, I not only left the house with the baby, I left the state and time zone! For a week!
