As mentioned in another post, the foundation was/is the problem. Wasn't something that was readily apparent because the space on the third floor was only used for long term storage so no one really saw it coming until it was already pretty much done. The hospital has sold the building to the Southern Illinois Healthcare Foundation who will be razing the structure and then putting up a new three story medical office building. The asbestos will be removed prior to razing.
