so i got excited because i had heard the rims were up and the courts were ready...
but then i am told that in order to play on them, one must show a park ID card...
now - i can drive to a variety of places and play basketball so this is no way hurts me, however, i think about the poor youth of today.
if a group of kids wanted to shoot some hoops, they can not simply go the public park and play?
i know there were problems before, and i personally feel like the actions taken were racially motivated...and i see how the current system would prevent some of that stuff from happening...i get it, i really do...
but back when i was young, i just remember things being easier to access. things are already too easy for kids to just sit around and play video games, so i ask...is it wise to make our parks harder to enjoy? isnt the idea of a public park to create a free and safe place to enjoy outside?
more importantly...i wonder if there is a better solution?
