Yep, unfortunately, there have been several recent reports. In fact, there have been a rise in lost dogs lately (or maybe because of my new connections I'm just more aware, not sure). Now the creeps are realizing people love their pets enough to give rewards. They are taken advantage of that love, and stealing them just hoping they get a reward.
That's why if someone ELSE mentions money when you haven't offered a reward, it's best to call the police. If they do/don't have your dog, you can bet some poor soul is going to fall for it. Best to just nip it in the bud BEFORE someone is scammed.
