With all the election crapola going on in the varying communities, I'm curious as to what you all think.

Are local elections more important to us, as a community, than the state and federal elections? Do the decisions our local leaders make impact us more than our senators, representatives and even the POTUS?

Tuesday is finally within reach. Finally all the signs will be gone, the handouts will be in the trash and those who have worked their butts off will either be elected or disappointed.

Why they do it is beyond me. Months of campaigning, months of rumors and inuendo about them, their families and their friends. Yeah, sounds fun to me.

Who to vote for? Experience is important to me. I want people who will work, who know how to get grants and manage a budget. School board members who were teachers know about teaching but do they know how to run a business? Alderman, trustees, does it become a popularity contest? The decisions are important ones I think.

Do your research folks. The past few days the BND has offered up candidate profiles. If you take the time to read them the differences in exprerience, goals and objectives and solutions is something to look at.

We're lucky we have the vote. Don't waste it.
