Here's an article from the BND about the new Aiellos Pizza. This is awesome. I hope this man makes a fortune. It's starting folks and it's not going to stop. Two new flower shops, a pizzeria, the theater, a used book store, a new music store and of course Metal Headz.
I drove down there today. The park employees were working on the streetscape. As I approaced from Madison Avenue I couldn't help but think that for the first time in twenty years downtown was starting to look like something. There was activity at the old lodge behind city hall. It looked like some remodelling going on there. When the Guardian Bank is turned into a busienss and a couple other little shops hit, the town is well on it's way.
This is so exciting to me. I truly never felt I would see the day that this would happen. It really shows when you clear a path and have people with vision in charge things can happen. This mayor and his council have done the job.
For the naysayers (some in city hall and some in the accessor office) how's that area working for you now? Progress people. Progress stops the blight and gives others the confidence to try something themselves. If I was twenty years younger the Guardian Bank would be an ice cream shop or a doughnut shop.
