The difference for me may be overly simplistic but i'll try and explain it.
When we went into Iraq the first time, there was an organized effort within Iraq to try and overthrow Saddham. When we went in the second time this was not the case. Libya is similar to Iraq the first go around, except there is a much stronger fight from within by LIbyan rebels than was non seen during Iraq II. If we are determined to play 'world police' as we often do, then this is the kind of policing we should do.
Simply put, we should not be involved in overthrowing other countries political tyrants when the people of these countries are not willing themselves are not willing to put themselves on the line.
That is my personal opinion Metal, I do not see these as being 'essentially the same thing.'
