So it's a crime to be poor and want to feed your children?
If you choose to have children and expect me to pay for them, you have wronged me... it's not a really a crime, but it does effect me.
As far as I know, the only ones who cannot vote are those who are not citizens and those incarcerated.
Last time I thought about removing voting rights from a group of people, I came to the conclusion that even felons should be allowed to vote, as the government decides what is a felony.
So next time you throw in your belief in strict interpretation of the Constitution - just look at this post.
I did not actually advocate removing voting rights from the welfare rats, it was merely a talking point, the title alone should have suggested that clearly enough. And people receiving welfare, would not have been able to vote under the constitution as it was originally written as there was no welfare.
There must be a away, and our founders tried, to stop the vote of the many, in this case welfare recipients, from reining tyrannically over the few, (rich white men), As people will tend to cast there vote in way that leverages goods from one person to themselves.
More concise; The majority, should not rule the minority tyrannically.
That could apply to gay rights, progressive income tax, or welfare, as those on it's roles in this country approach a majority.
It is after all a goal of the democrat party; control the publics food supply (via welfare), as a means to control there vote.
