It has been my experience as someone who has worked in manufacturing for over 30 years, that when the economy takes a nose-dive, manufacturing is always the last to take the hit..and the last to make the rebound. According to the latest United States Unemployment Rate manufacturing added 49,000 jobs in the month of January. The unemployment rate is now at 9%, the lowest it has been since May/June of 09.
I see it at work, as do others in the trade at other locations..work is picking up on the durable goods side...and that my friends is a sign of a light at the end of the tunnel. History has shown that to be the case..and I have no reason to doubt it this time around.
No figures on a page, no pundit telling me that the US is going to hell in a handbasket and no pixxing and moaning from the Obama haters can detract from the reality that this country is on an upward swing again.
