No, Downtown Granite's revitalization is not going to work if we all listen to the NEGATIVE people! Give it a chance. The changes in the last two years are remarkable. It will never be what it was in it's hayday of the 50's & 60's because that is not the planned intent of the City. It is to be a cultural area.

As for as Mr. Billiard's liquor license, oh well! I can't feel sorry for you on your poor planning.

    Wow, what a statement.
    Poor planning?
    Really?
Do you really want to stand by that statement?

So, if you are a business owner in this town and you decide after a dozen or more years that you want to add or change the services you offer, that it would be considered poor planning for not planning for these changes from the beginning?

You have to DECIDE to you want to be a billiard hall or a bar!

I think it's pretty clear he wants to be a billiars club that serves alcohol, not a bar that has a pool table in it. There is a definite difference.

I myself enjoy libations, but with alcohol service and consumption equals problems. This is not the vision or objective of the City.

Well, then the city needs to make the downtown area alcohol free, all the way around...bye bye Mingo's, bye bye all fraternal organizations, bye bye alcohol from Walgreen's and 7-11, and any other place I have forgotten.

There were Public Hearings regarding the Downtown PUD District.

What is PUD...do we have a city official here?
    Interesting term.

If it's that important to you...cut your losses and move.

A bit hypocritical, don't you think?
Considering this is the first thing that came out of your mouth...."Downtown Granite's revitalization is not going to work if we all listen to the NEGATIVE people! Give it a chance."

This almost sounds a little personal to me, if you are hoping the revitalization works, why would you even remotely suggest that someone move out of the area? Really?

This man has hung tight, through all the years when our council members, aldermen, alderwomen and mayor let our downtown sit and fester like an infected boil, with their eyes wide shut, and he is still willing to hang...and you suggest he move out? You must be well off financially to assume anyone could afford to start a business over from scratch. Hmmmmm

At least families visiting the area don't have to worry about something spilling to the streets from your establishment, while walking into the movie theater.

bahahhaaaaaa, this is too funny. I'd be more worried about some crack addict or meth cooker who lives in that peach of a hotel called the "Relax Inn" sticking a knife in my gut than seeing someone "spilling to the streets", (a side street at that)from a pool hall. OMG

800 signatures versus a population of 30,000+ does not in my books say everyone is for you!

Maybe not, but first off I think a more fair comparison would be signatures vs. households, not citizens, considering those 1 through 17 really have no say, or pay no taxes.

But if you feel the need to slam his efforts, I guess this is how you would see it.

Enough is enough and we all GCG know your problem and opinion. Stop infiltrating all the posts with your whining.

    LMAO, again REALLY? Whatever, noob.
