I could have made it thru four years of school, away from home, with no family help, on the same budget I had in college.
If somebody is truely trying to escape "poverty" There are ways to EARN the money they needed for college. You don't GIVE it to them
I will not be convinced that someone in an extreme poverty situation who decides to go the legitimate way (a 4-year degree) to escape it versus the "easy way" (slinging drugs, stripping, etc) doesn't deserve a helping hand to get that education.
Why is a 4 year degree the only ligitamate way out of poverty?
Stripping is a legitimate profession that can pay well, at the same time allowing flexible scheduling so one can attend class.
