Would you agree that since the military has decided to allow gays to serve that is better to have it out in the open with an option for those who object to be exempted from a unit that included gays? My personal opinion is that forced integration never works out well, and whether it's "don't ask don't tell" or forced acceptance it just allows later conflict.
