While I may not agree with the life style, I think this needs to go. It is unlawful to discriminate against gay and lesbians in almost every other area, it should be here too. As it was already said, the current policy does not prevent this, it only forces someone who wants to server their country from being themself. They are forced to hide who they are, and that is not right.
