You show an obvious lack of economic knowledge so maybe sit this one out. I am as conservative as it gets but I am smart enough to know when trickledown economics doesn't work.
Look back at the 60's and 70's. Those union workers built most of the infrastructure that made these companies economic power houses. In return for that, they asked for fair contracts and got them.
Corporate profits are higher than ever and the companies now feel it's not fair to share a small portion of your profits.
You're probably all for a kid flipping burgers deserves making $20 an hour but begrudge a teacher making their wage? You think a man working in a dangerous steel mill doesn't deserve a fair contract? Not sure what college you went to but I'm guessing it was online.
they did not fail, because they did what their country asked of them....
